We’re thrilled to welcome back for Easter, bestselling author and cartoonist James Parsons, UK’s leading provider of comic art workshops.

We have 2 new papercraft workshops available. Each workshop is unique (see details below), and no prior experience is necessary – just bring your imagination. All materials are provided, ensuring a fun and unforgettable creative experience. Suitable for ages 6+

10am or 1:15pm - Exploding Pop-ups and Flappy Megamouth Cards

Join super-pro comic art teacher James for a mind-expanding comic art workshop in which you will learn some awesome papercraft and 3D pop-up making tricks! Jump-scare your friends with the exploding pop-up card mechanism, and have some fun with one of the simplest and most effective paperfolding tricks making a megamouth card - only you can decide what adorable / gross / spooky / awesomely cool things will go inside it! Along the way pick up loads of drawing tips and tricks used by professionals!

11:15am or 2:30pm - X-Ray Spex

Join James' most popular workshop. Learn how to design and build your own pair of incredible, working X-Ray Spex, under James' 'Xpert' guidance. Create your own secret code pictures and hidden images using the ingenious power of colour filters and optical effects! An incredible combination of simple science and cartooning creativity!

Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Each workshop is 60 minutes.

Tickets cost: £12 per child, and includes a cold drink.

Terms & Conditions

Each child ticket admits 1 participating child and 1 accompanying adult.

Children under 6 years, who are not participating, do not require a ticket. Please be aware pushchairs etc. will need to be left in a designated area. (Baby carriers are accepted into the event space).

Booking is essential and places are limited to 16 children per session.

Please try to arrive on time as latecomers may risk not being able to complete their papercraft.

Step free disabled access is available into the event room, for anyone unable to use the stairs, via the car park. 

Please note: Tickets are not refundable however, subject to availability, we can move your booking onto an alternative session, providing at least 3 days' notice is given.
